In an odd announcement, Penelope Cruz has let the world know that she is a big fan of breastfeeding, so much that she calls it “addictive.”
Speaking to Allure, Cruz talks about being a mother, as well as her strong friendship with Salma Hayek. On being a mother, Cruz states:
“I was breastfeeding my son 13 months, and I plan to do the same with my daughter. [Nursing] is addictive. It’s hard when the day comes when you have to stop.”
I know there are mothers who prefer breastfeeding their baby, and all stop when the baby is a certain again, but for Cruz to call breastfeeding “addictive” is a bit odd and uncomfortable.
When not talking about her fascination with breastfeeding, Cruz talks about her bestie, Hayek:
“She’s one of my best friends. We call each other huevos [eggs]. It was because when we were working together, we didn’t have children yet, so we used to sleep much more than now. So it was a way to call each other lazy. We slept in the same bed so many times and it was like she was always trying to wake me up and call me huevos.”
Cruz has revealed that she is addictive to breastfeeding and that she and Hayek call each other “huevos,” so anything else she says won’t seem that bizarre. Cruz talks about the routine she had as a child as well:
“In my house every Sunday, everybody was cleaning the house. There was always music, and everybody was dancing, sometimes naked around the house. Not hippie, but very free.”
I wouldn’t really call Cruz strange, but she is an interesting person who obviously does not care what others think.
What do you think of this Cruz’ comments?
